Paul Jewison, general manager of Textile Care Services (TCS) in Rochester, MN, a division of Healthcare Laundry Services Group (HLSG), recently hosted the Gurtler Industries team at their newly refurbished plant. TRSA’s monthly publication Textile Services, reviewed TCS’s plant makeover in their October issue. TCS provides high-quality textile rental services to both the healthcare and hospitality industries including commercial laundering and delivery of linen and apparel items to hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and hotels. They are proud to be the textile supplier for Rochester’s Mayo Clinic system. HLSG has invested over $10 million in the upgrade of TCS’s operations in the last year along with investing in the latest technology across all of their facilities.
Part of the makeover was a complete redo of the TCS bulk chemical room. In addition to using Gurtler chemicals throughout the plant, the Gurtler Vis-Tex UV System on all three of the new Kannegiesser tunnels. The UV Light and advanced oxidation technology allows for greater water reuse, cleaner goods and enhanced hygiene properties. The plant’s water use is down to 0.33 gallons per pound. Plus, Gurtler’s GLSS productivity monitoring system is installed in the finishing department. Jewison expects productivity standards to improve as the result of installing the GLSS technology.
